Assange is proof that the government really doesn't give us true
freedom of speech. We are told that we have this right in the 1st Amendment,
but when issues or facts are raised that tarnish the appearance of the U.S. or
dispute what they have been reporting to us, retaliation ensues from our
government. If Assange is extradited to the United States for espionage
charges, it will be a giant step backwards in regards to all our rights as
citizens. If they can persecute a non-citizen in such a way for publishing
documents, what will they do to those of us here who speak our minds or demand
the truth from journalists?
